Cafe Batavia is located in the old town area in West Jakarta. A beautiful period house dating from the Dutch colonial house situated in old town, Jakarta. A must stop for visitors.

The restaurant presents various Asian and Western foods and drinks and you can faces the restaurant in Taman Fatahillah area.

The old design feel when you entire the cafe. It has two floor, which it has wonderful live music from a local band in the first floor - singing oldies but that engaged everyone. The band even allows people on stage to show their own talent.

The upper floor features the 'Grand Salon', the main dining hall. The "Grand Salon" which is the gallery part of the building, is constructed of wood and features large shuttered windows, providing abundant light into the interior.

On the other side - at semi outdoor area, you will face the different design. It's lighter more than indoor area, it cause the large shuttered windows are open. So, you can feel the waves, smoke there and see people from the upper ground.

but it also constructed of woods as well as agreeable visit to Taman Fatahillah and the colonial buildings surrounding it.

Now, let's talk about the menu.

In Cafe Batavia, the menu is combine between Asian and Western foods.

I didn't have any photos of their menu, but I'll share to you what I ordered.

Steamed chicken and vegetables filled dumpling

Steamed chicken and vegetables filled dumpling - on Cafe Batavia menu named Fried Watie. This menu is one of kind Asian food, well-known as Dim Sum.

I choose steamed nor fried dim sum because I don't like fried dim sum.

It's IDR 32.000 rupiah and I think it's worth it. The taste are good and the texture are soft. It's not over cooked. The sauce are not spicy like the other dim sum sauce.

Chicken spring roll

I ordered the other menu, but both are Asian food. I didn't know why I prefer Asian than Western at that time. but for me as personal, both are the best.

Chicken spring roll is gonna be my favorite menu!!

Omaygod.. It's really really good.

They make it sooo perfect. It's just something special.

And... I ordered Hot Coffee Latte for my drink.

For their coffee, hmm I didn't find any special thing.

For me as personal, I love the old design and interior and also food. Maybe I'll try another menu next time to know what is my favorite main course!

Wanna join me?
